Grief and Loss.

Grief and loss involves more than just death. Loss can be the loss of a job, loss of health, loss of status, loss of finances, loss of a pet or relationship. We grieve even when we lose or leave unhealthy things, like a toxic relationship or an addiction. We may even grieve during major life transitions- good and bad- moving, marriage, divorce, having a child, losing a child. Grief is a complex response to loss and can be very difficult to feel and understand. We all move through grief at different paces and phases. But one thing is true—the only way to find peace in grief or be able to accept your loss, is to work through it. Although I cannot make the feelings go away, my job is to help you understand your grief and process through it.

“Deep grief sometimes is almost like a specific location, a coordinate on a map of time. When you are standing in that forest of sorrow, you cannot imagine that you could ever find your way to a better place. But if someone can assure you that they themselves have stood in that same place, and now have moved on, sometimes this will bring hope”
